What is ocean energy?

Ocean energy is an abundant, untapped, renewable resource derived from ocean currents, tides, and waves.

Our company's technology focuses on ocean current and tidal energy. Imagine wind turbines, but underwater in currents and tides that never cease. Although ocean currents move relatively slow, water is 800 times denser than air, allowing them to carry a great deal of energy.  The steady, dense flow allows for a highly forecastable and grid compatible energy source.

Innovations in Power Take-Off

In order for ocean energy to reach commercial scale, the industry requires low-cost, high-efficiency solutions.

Our Company tackles this through innovations in the power take-off system - resulting in a Permanent Magnet direct-drive generator with flooded bearing technology.

Who We Are
Founded 2014

Following an independent MHK feasibility study and research at the University of Florida's Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel,  CEO John Sninsky founded the company to develop ultra low-maintenance and scalable marine turbine technology using an interdisciplinary approach.

With a focus on the Gulf Stream.

There are approximately 45 TWh/year of technical resource available for extraction from the Gulf Stream area just 15 miles offshore Florida, representing a $15 billion market opportunity. Our company's power take-off system is being designed and tested for Gulf Stream conditions.
